to the Meiningen Schloss-Stuben – your restaurant offering good simple cuisine from the region.
Our specialty:
Thuringian dumplings
according to the original Meininger recipe.
In the Elisabethenburg Palace in Meiningen, this is located in the Werra Valley, between the Thuringian Forest and the Rhoen.
We offer a large range of classic main courses served with a side dish of our regional special Thuringian dumplings, which are also known as Meininger Huetes (pronounced hootes).
Even though the recipe for Meininger Huetes is not the easiest, we home make all ours fresh, daily in our own kitchens!
Would you like to try your hand at being a Meininger dumpling cook? Here is the recipe:
We place a huge importance on the word fresh, which of course also applies to our range of salads and salad buffet.
An extension to our main menu is offered with soup, entrées and meals for the ‘small appetite’.
Meat dishes belong now, as ever, to the classics.
There is nothing nicer than a juicy steak, whereby we are very proud to be able to offer the best cuts from Germany.
As well, there is roast pork, lamb and game, which are also worth considering.
The appropriate accompanying wine is also not to be ignored!
Nothing beats a good simple cuisine but every now and again, one gets a hankering for that something out of the ordinary – a little variety.
Therefore, so that it is not always the same for our guests from our pots and on our plates, we like to regularly surprise our diners with new and sometimes exotic offers. We have been known to serve dishes such as; crocodile, ostrich, python, or (as pictured) lobster.
If you really have a very special desire, please just contact us and we shall fulfil your wishes.
We can offer a wide range of decoration for our own events as well as your own very special occasion.
This starts with the setting of the tables and the choice of flowers and/or floral arrangements. For that really something special, we also offer small figurines cut from melon or pumpkin.
Please discuss your special wishes with us.
